“Contemplation is about stepping out of the world of surface appearances and illusions and into eternity in the presence of God. The eternal reality is that each of us bears a “weight of glory” that would dazzle us like the sun, if we looked straight into it now. But like the sun, seeing by its light makes everything else more clear.
Let us ask to be shown a glimpse of that light. God may choose to reveal it to us as bright light or as “radiant darkness,” the light so bright that it blinds us and leaves us in the dark with nothing but trust. Either way, we can be sure of this: we look to a God who is infinite and loves us without limits.”
