  1. feeling the need to acknowledge the negative at the very least to myself. .. when customers come into Chico’s I often start an interaction by saying .”how are you doing?’ I often get the reply – “can’t complain.” Being polite. Paul Valéry said, “Politeness is organized indifference.” Self-observation not as fun as it sounds. 🙂
