Gloria McClanen smiling

We were grieved this week to learn of the death of an old friend, Gloria McClanen.

Gloria was a longtime member of the Church of the Saviour (CofS), of Dayspring Church, and of the Wellspring mission group. She came to the CofS in 1962 with her husband Don and their two children, Michael and Laura. Don, who had just left the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which he had founded and directed, became the manager of Dayspring, and the McClanen family moved into the farmhouse that year. Don ran a turf farming operation at Dayspring until the mid-1970’s, and in 1968 the house we call Overlook was built for the McClanen family. Gloria played a key role in designing the setup of the house. Over the years the McClanens became an institution in the life and history of Dayspring and the CofS. A memorial service is tentatively planned for the Fall.

Thank God for them, and thank God for Gloria. She is now free to be with Christ and the souls that she loves.

Join those who have passed before. Ride on into the arms of your Saviour!
