Callings – Spring 2022
The first issue of Callings for 2022, now it its eleventh volume, features the continued effort to protect Dayspring from the encroachment of Midcounty Highway Extended/M-83, an unnecessary and disastrous road project. Editor Marjory talks about the fun of caroling outside The Festival Center with hot chocolate this Winter, and later in the issue Festival Center’s “Collectives” classes are described, which cover topics such as decolonization, discernment, climate change, and more.
The inside story is written by Brittany Wilmes and celebrates Faith and Money Network on their 40th year anniversary! “We want to be a voice of conscience in this culture of scarcity and consumerism — to be a part of a movement of others who are trying to push back at the way that Jesus has been co-opted,” Director Mike Little says. Learn about all the great things Faith and Money Network has achieved over the years and what they have planned for the future. There is also an invitation to learn more about minority-led Hope Credit Union, which empowers Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in the Mid-South.

Got the hard copy of The Callings after the hard hat tour of The Festival Center and a stop at Kayla McClurg house. .Quite a shock to my system after living at Andrew’s House when I first moved to DC. . .
