Sue Ferguson Johnson and Wes Howard-Brook collaborate in the ministry, Abide in Me, from their home in the Issaquah Creek Watershed in Western Washington state. Sue is a spiritual director of individuals and couples and Wes teaches theology at Seattle University. Together, they seek to integrate the the inner and outer, the mystical and prophetic, the private and public journeys. They are both a part of the Mennonite Church in Seattle.
During their upcoming visit they will focus on how Christianity became a religion of empire and the implications of that in our faith today. They will draw from Wes’ recent project, the two-volumes Come Out, My People!: God’s Call Out of Empire In the Bible and Beyond, and Empire Baptized: How the Church Embraced What Jesus Rejected, 2nd-5th Centuries.
All events are free, donations are appreciated.
