has been on staff at The Church of the Saviour for 16 years. She grew up on a farm in Iowa and was an English teacher and church lay leader in Iowa and Oklahoma. She volunteered one summer in Harlem and fell in love with New York, returning a year later to live in a community of homeless women, children and nuns called Providence House. She also taught college classes inside Sing Sing and Bedford Hills prisons.
When she arrived in DC, Kayla worked part-time at the Potter’s House, where she became friends with Gordon Cosby and started to work with him and Bill Branner, his long-time associate. Today she continues to minister/administer, welcome visitors, edit and write. In 2006 Kayla started facilitating inward/outward. A long-time member of the Potter’s House Church, Kayla serves as resident manager of Andrew’s House, the guest house for out-of-town friends visiting the church. She loves to help people explore the community. Contact her about a visit.
